Singing has always been a part of my life. As a child I sang in the choir at my grandfather’s church in Philadelphia. Later while at Bluefield State College I formed my first singing group. As the Philadelphians we toured the West Virginia area until I graduated. While at UCLA’s graduate school I sharpened my singing skills. I sang with my uncles in their band the Houstons.
When I returned to Philly to teach, I once again formed my own singing group. As the Craig in Craig’s Ladies and Band we toured the Philadelphia area. As fate would have it, one of my cousins married a woman with a fantastic singing voice, Shirley Lites. Though Shirley had own singing group, we did manage to do several gigs together.
Words could never express my appreciation to Shirley for introducing me to songwriter and producer Lou Parente. Jointly Lou and I have put together some beautiful music. My CD features two of the songs. They will be available soon. When they are I hope all will enjoy them for there is more music to come.
